April 28th, 26, This morning, I’ve been thinking about the world and how we might all try a little harder to get along.

I took my daughter to school at 7:30—she’s sick—then came home. It’s still morning, around 10:50, and I’m staring at the screen, dictating because typing isn’t easy for me anymore.

The

United States is a good country, full of good, hardworking people living decent middle‑class lives. Some people are upset—about politics, about the Olympics—but we can always vote.

Our lives are connected, and we all carry the same mix of hope, frustration, happiness, and sadness. Mostly, we just want a good day.

My phone died completely last night. That black screen is always unsettling when so much of life lives in there. I’ll take it to the computer shop later—I suspect it’s just the battery.

This morning came with the usual digital hurdles: proving I own Word, fixing what’s wrong, and finally getting to write something meaningful. I don’t usually write like this on my blog. I normally write stories—about barnstormers, airplanes, and things I love. The site has grown, and I really should clean up the menu.

My wife sets a 30‑minute timer for me. I usually let it go off and keep going anyway—until she yells.
