Haste

Cry for the things we've done in haste

So little we need,

So much we waste.

Our steps in life, so rapid, they fall.

We rarely have time, because

We need it all.

Are we entirely to blame?

I don't think so,

But still, it's our hands that

push the buttons

I often think about slowing down: more time with the kids, not eating so fast, meeting my wife's needs, and expressing my love for her, my kids, and my grandkids.

My kids remember and have never forgotten the time when we bought tickets to Disneyland, arranged for 5 days. We had them pack a suitcase with clothes for 5 days. They were, "Why are we packing clothes for one night in Seattle? We were quiet. So, arriving in Seattle, we went directly to the airport. "Why are we in an airport?" We spilled the plans. They were literally spellbound! Or incredulous. We had a blast! Kids were 6,8, and 10. Just the right age for the kids to really enjoy. Went from cold, snowy Seattle to warm California. Did we have the money? No, not even. Ate lots of macaroni and cheese after the trip. No eating out and paying off the loan. Worth it, undoubtedly yes!!

We slowed down and realized this was our only chance to take the kids on an adventure.

Time to have fun with the kids in the winter. Ric
