I loved flying to many destinations. It just makes you appreciative of all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into putting us up in that modern wonder of a large-body jet. Flying now is much safer than a car, where you roll the dice every time you start the vehicle. Not too many drunk pilots run into other planes…very, very rare. We build airplanes and are human, so a part falls out now and then. But we are very safe in the air at this point. This is why I am simultaneously writing about history, my writing, and the history of flight. It seems that flight has pioneered our modern-day renaissance to prove something heavier than 100,000,000 birds can manage to get into the air. I think flight gave our society the go-ahead to do what we consider impossible to be possible. This is what I believe has fueled our modern-day society.
Barnstormers lit the fire; That fire became an amalgam of society that branched off into enterprising innovators who made that fire and have allowed society to soar
